Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her six brothers, Woody, Don, Nick, Billy, Larry and Johnny and two sisters, Willa Wahlers and Wilma Williamson. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa C. "Missy" Capps; two granddaughters, Mykah and Nicole; her baby sister, Brenda and life-long friend and partner, Neil E. Capps, all of Versailles Missouri.
Carol was a preacher’s wife and Sunday school teacher at The Gospel Lighthouse in Kansas City for a number of years before moving her family back to Versailles to help care for her mother in 1986. She loved the Lord and read her Bible often. Some of her greatest accomplishments were being a wife, mother and friend, homemaker, a peace-giver and caregiver to her loved ones. Her family lovingly called her “Sue” or “Cookie” and was loved by all those who knew her. She will be remembered for her courageous spirit and her contagious smile.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles with Pastor Rick Everitt officiating. Burial will follow at Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Tuesday in the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
