Orris R. Allen

Orris R. Allen, 86, of Parkersburg, passed away April 24, 2007, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 15, 1920, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Darley and Effie Lucas Allen. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II, a member of the 10th Avenue Church of God, an avid sportsman and he loved his family.

He is survived by four sons, James Allen, Gary Allen and wife, Diane, all of Parkersburg, Dennis Allen and wife, Linda, of Washington and Joe Allen and wife, Pam, of Vienna; four daughters, Patricia Shultz and husband, Carl, of Walker, Rebecca Henke and husband, Ralph, of Parkersburg, Bonnie Jewell and husband, Bob, of New Jersey and Cindy Allen, also of Parkersburg; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Orville Allen and wife, Erma, of Parkersburg; and one sister, Francis Lyons and husband, Charles, of Madison, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Belle Allen; five brothers; and one sister.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Jack Brown officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
