Gertrude Q. Carman
May 25, 1914 - Feb. 18, 1994

ALBANY -- Gertrude Q. Carman, 79, died Friday in Albany General Hospital.

She was born and raised in Ithaca, N.Y. She received a bachelor's degree from Ithaca College, and a master of arts degree from Cornell University. She taught in Sodus, N.Y., for three years.

On April 12, 1941, she married Glenn Carman in the Cornell University chapel. In 1942, they moved to Bristol, Pa., where she was a librarian. Later they moved to Riverside, Pa. They came to Albany Mennonite Village in November 1992.

She was a member of the Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and Assistance League.

Survivors include her husband; son, Gary of Reno, Nev.; daughter, Gail C. Flagg of Kirkland, Wash.; brothers, Robert L. Quick and Wallace J. Quick, both of Winter Haven, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday in Willamette Memorial Park. Arrangements are by AAsum mortuary.
