James Emmitt Canon--- James Emmitt Canon, 93, died May 28, 1987, at Manhattan Health Care Center. Services are 11 a.m. Sat. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Friendship Cemetery. Mr. Canon was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Jackson, Ms. He is survived by his daughters; Mrs. Odene Evans of Jackson, Ms. and Mrs. Agnes Whitemore of Grenada, Ms.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. He was born Nov. 2, 1894.
