Mrs. Martin Gibson

Funeral services were held on Friday, April 4, at 2 p.m. from Friendship Methodist Church in Attala County for Mrs. Martin Gibson whose death occurred at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson on Wed., April 2 after an illness of several weeks.
Mrs. Gibson was a native of Montgomery County. She was a daughter of the late James A. and Mary Elizabeth Campbell Canon. She was first married to Absie J. Bailey who died many years ago.
Survivors are her husband, Martin Gibson; two sons, Floyd and Milton Bailey; two daughters, Mrs. W. L. Randle and Mrs. Owens; two step-daughters and two step-sons; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Parkinson and Mrs. L. H. Curtis; and four brothers, J. M. Canon, Ira Canon, Emmett Canon and Upton Canon.
She had been a member of the Friendship Methodist Church since girlhood. Her sweet Christain spirit quickly made friendships which lasted through the years. Her life was marked by her love for Christ and His church and by her love for her home and her family. The memory of her lovable character will remain a blessing and a benediction to her loved ones and friends.
Her pastor, Rev. J. E. Sutphin, had charge of the services. He was assisted by Rev. Archie Stephens of Kosciusko. Interment was in the church cemetery.
