Wanda was born on January 30, 1929 in Edmeston the daughter of the late Howard and Pearl Hickling Colburn. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Mason Tiffany on December 19, 2001, five brothers Cecil, Donald, Edwin, Howard, Fay, and Kenneth, two sisters Ruth and Betty, and a great granddaughter Erika.
She is survived by two daughters Barbara Murphy of Edmeston, and Linda Winsor of Bloomfield, NY, grandchildren Kevin (Kim) Rous, and Kristie (Martin) Willix, great grandchildren Justin, Jason, Jordan, George, Maxwell, and Marissa, two great great grandchildren Jaiden, and Jackson. She is also survived by four sisters Margaret Crumb of Geneva, NY, Pearl “Sally” Pickens of Richfield Springs, Jone Lum of Edmeston, and Patricia Maher of West Winfield along with several nieces and nephews.
A lifetime resident of the area, Wanda was a member of the Garrattsville Methodist Church, and through her hard work and dedication, she earned her GED later in life. She was a talented piano player who loved many types of music, but was drawn to older country and western music. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and was known to play a mean game of Pitch, Rummy, or Yahtzee.
Calling hours will be 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Saturday August 11 at the Delker and Terry Funeral Home 30 South Street Edmeston, New York. Funeral services will follow immediately at the funeral Home with Andy Johnson, Pastor of the Second Baptist Church of Edmeston officiating. Interment will be in Edmeston Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Susquehanna Animal Shelter 4841 State Highway 28 Cooperstown, NY 13326 or the Pathfinder Village Foundation 3 Chenango Rd Edmeston, NY 13335 in memory of Wanda.
