Arlene (Nimerichter) Josoff, age 83, of Centerville, Iowa passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Centerville Care Initiatives.

She was born on September 25, 1937 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Ladislav and Frances (Benak) Nimerichter. On August 22, 1955 she married Nicholas Josoff, Jr. in Omaha, Nebraska.

In the early 1960s Nick and Arlene moved from Omaha to Cainsville, Missouri where Arlene spent many years helping with the cattle and crops. Her hobbies included metal detecting, baking fruit cakes, crocheting and walking the creeks looking for Indian artifacts.

Moving back to Omaha in 1991, she spent time with her mother and sister. She enjoyed going to the casino to play the slot machines, and feeding the squirrels.

After a major car wreck in 2012 leaving Arlene unable to live on her own, she moved to Centerville where she could be close to her immediate family. She spent many hours watching the birds, when she wasn’t working on word search books.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nicholas Josoff, Jr., one sister, Marilyn Velasquez; and two brothers, Ronald Nimerichter, and Laddie Nimerichter.

Left to honor her memory include her sister-in-law, Virginia Nimerichter of Leon, Iowa; her daughter, Donna Josoff (Rick Hogg) of Centerville, Iowa; one granddaughter, Kim (Gary) Mitchell; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Mitchell and Kenzie Mitchell, all of Centerville, Iowa.Arlene F. Arlene (Nimerichter) Josoff, age 83, of Centerville, Iowa passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Centerville Care Initiatives.

She was born on September 25, 1937 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Ladislav and Frances (Benak) Nimerichter. On August 22, 1955 she married Nicholas Josoff, Jr. in Omaha, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held 10 AM, Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Father Timothy Armbruster officiating. Services will be livestreamed on the Lange Funeral Home Facebook Page. A visitation will take place on Thursday at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville from 8-10 AM, with the family receiving friends from 9-10. The Josoff Family will gather for a fellowship meal immediately following the service at the Eagles, 1101 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa. Burial will be held later in the day at the Hamilton Cemetery, north of Pleasanton, Iowa. A memorial has been established for the bird seed for the bird feeders at Centerville Care Initiatives and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
