A retired DOTD employee and a resident of Grosse Tete, he passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 81, a native of Baton Rouge and a U.S. Marine veteran. Visiting at St. Joseph Catholic Church Hall, Grosse Tete, on Sunday, Aug. 26, from 5 to 8pm with a rosary at 7pm and will continue on Monday August 27, 2012 from 10am until 11:15am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, celebrated by Father Joseph Sanjay. Interment St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Billie A. David; two daughters, Mary David Collums and husband Danny, and Laura David Bordelon and husband Dale; two sisters, Hazel David May and Bobbie David Harris; eight grandchildren, Scott and Trent Collums, Paul and Jamie Bordelon, Allen David, Adam and Brent Mansur, and Tina David; eight great-grandchildren, son-in-law, Trey Mansur; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janna David Mansur; son, Lawrence Allen "Bubba" David; parents, Joseph and Elise David; sisters, Ruth David Laurent and Ollie Mae David Attuso; and brother, Joseph R. "JR" David. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Wille and Monroe Rushing. He was a member of the Lions Club of Grosse Tete. Special thanks to the Doctors and Staff at Our Lady of the Lake especially in the MSCC Unit for their loving care and devotion.
