Carl Andrick

Carl "Preston" Andrick, 84, of Palestine, W.Va., passed away Jan. 4, 2007, at his home.

He was born in Parkersburg, the son of the late Freddie Guy and Ruby Sommerville Andrick. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Air Force. He was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 82 A.F.&A.M., and Wirt Chapter 113 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a former supervisor of Little Kanawha Soil Conservation District and a county committeeman for the Farm Service Agency. He also worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways for several years and retired from the Wirt County Board of Education as a school bus driver after 17 years of service.

Surviving is a son, Herbert (Deborah) Andrick of Bridgeport, W.Va.; two daughters, Darlene (Dexter) Graham of Washington, W.Va., and Sally Borum of Kissimee, Fla.; a brother, James Leo Andrick of New Cumberland, Pa.; a sister, Lucy Sullivan of Milton, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mazie Andrick in 2003.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Matheny Pomroy Funeral Home of Elizabeth with the Rev. Danny McVey and the Rev. Robert Stanley officiating. Burial will be in the Pisgah Cemetery of Palestine. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home
