Note: It looks like he has the she same death date as his wife, Vera Mae Emery engraved as his death date; but according to his obituary and the fact that a different funeral home handled their services. Hopefully this will be corrected.

Waldron, Arkansas:
Oliver Wayne Emery, 85, of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at a Waldron, Arkansas hospital.

Wayne was born April 25, 1925 in Abernathy, Texas to the late Pittman Emery and Ruby Lee (Hoover) Emery. He was a retired station officer with the Lubbock Fire Department, and a member of the Waldron Church of Christ.

Wayne is survived by one granddaughter, Mystery Shantray Prieto and husband Emmuel of Waldron, Arkansas; two great-grandchildren, Jorge (Jo-Jo) Emmeal Prieto, Emmuel Wayne (Little Wayne) Prieto both of Waldron, Arkansas; one sister Bertha Nadine Graves of Austin, Texas; one brother Harold Everett Emery of Amarillo, Texas; niece, Ruby Gay Grimes of Lubbock, Texas and numerous other nieces and nephews. Wayne?s funeral service will be held at the Waldron Church of Christ, Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Howard Robinson, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hawkins Cemetery in Parks, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be James Cunningham, Brad Stamps, Raymond Self, Howard Robinson, Darwin Hutchens, and Emmuel Prieto. Honorary pallbearers will be Jorge (Jo-Jo) Prieto and Emmuel (Little Wayne) Prieto. Wayne's visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
