CUYAHOGA FALLS - James A. Hepler, 85, died February 1, 2021. Born in Centerville, PA on July 3, 1935, he was a standout athlete and football player in high school, was a resident of Cuyahoga Falls since 1956, a U.S. Army Reserve veteran serving through Ft. Knox, and had retired as a tool and die maker from Ford Motor Co. Mr. Hepler was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion Hason-Cole Post 391, Fredericktown, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Shirley, in 2017, his parents Charles and Edna Hepler, siblings : Eleanor (Richard) Parks, Betty (Kenneth) Hoover, Charles (Beverly) Hepler, Polly (Tom) Welling, Emma Jean (Harold) Ball, Edna Lee (William) Kotch and Barbara Hager. He is survived by his daughter Lisa Ann (Charles) Riedel; son Joe (Mary Elizabeth) Hepler; grandchildren, Brittany, Brian (Kodi) and Bradley Riedel, Kayla, Daniel, Katrina and Audrey Hepler; brothers, John (Diane) Hepler, Kenneth (Karen) Hepler, Ronald Hager, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Fr. Tom McCann will conduct service Saturday 11 a.m. at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
