Whitefield, Buried Nov 27, 1746.
A youth under the care of William Cattell, Jun. Esq.
I believe this to be Samuel Whitfield. His father, John Whitfield (Whitefield) died in January 1736, in his will probated in Charleston county, South Carolina, John mentions his Well Beloved Friend, William Cattell, Junior and William Cattell, Senior. As Far as known, there were only 2 Whitfield boys and they were in their father's will as well. John and Samuel. John lived to be older and I have found him in 1776 records, therefore I believe this to be the younger boy , Samuel. His parents married in 1732 in England, therefore he would have been born somewhere between 1733 and Oct 1735 when he is mentioned in his father's first recorded will in Charleston County, South Carolina. Therefore, he would have been about 11-13 years of age at the time of death "a youth".
