Alvin Senner was born on February 15th, 1927 in Lethbridge, Alberta and was called Home to be with his Lord on August 15th, 2017 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 90 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife; Alma, his sons; Gary (Kim) Senner of Fraser Lake, B.C., Wayne (Lynn) Senner of Kelowna, B.C., his daughters; Linda (Al) Girard of Nanaimo, B.C., Karen (Brian) Thompson of Kamloops, B.C. and Brenda (Peter Lovell) Senner of Port Moody, B.C., his grandchildren; Michelle, Danielle, Jenelle, Tyson, Brandon, Garrison, Marshall, Emily, Meghan, Alexander, Jessica and Tori, 9 great-grandchildren with the 10th to be born in August of 2017, his brother; Albert (Velma) Senner of Prince George, B.C., his sister; Clara Pack of Edmonton, Alberta along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; Henry and Christina Senner and by his brothers; Conrad, Victor, Henry and Edward Senner.

Alvin was the 3rd born of 7 children to Henry and Christina Senner. He worked in the oil fields and the lumber industry in Alberta and British Columbia. Alvin retired as Superintendent of West Fraser Forest Products in 1987. They moved to Vernon, B.C., first residing on Westside Road, then Avenue West Condominiums and finally to Orchard Valley Retirement Home in 2009. Alvin eventually required a higher level of care and assistance and moved to Gateby Care Facility in 2015.

Alvin was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed many of the lakes and rural areas that British Columbia has to offer. He loved to camp and spent many summers at Fraser and Francois lakes with family and friends. He was happiest being outside with family, especially his wife, children and grandchildren. Alvin was a devoted husband and role model to his children. He loved his family unconditionally and was always available to provide support and help when called upon.

Alvin will always be remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit. He enjoyed a good joke and a funny story. Alvin was very involved with St. John's Lutheran Church fellowship group, Seminary Guild and provided maintenance of the church grounds. In the Vernon community, he did bread deliveries for the Upper Room Mission and Meals on Wheels.

Interment will take place at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery on Thursday, August 24th, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. followed by a Celebration of Alvin's Life at St. John's Lutheran Church at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Craig Tufts officiating.

Funeral arrangements have been made with BETHEL FUNERAL CHAPEL LTD., 5605 27th Street, Vernon, B.C.
