Deward C. Williams in his "Wabash County Lineages" (1969) states that she was born in Kaskaskia, but does not give a date. He states that she was married twice and lived at Vincennes. After she was widowed a second time, she moved to Wabash County, Illinois to be near her sons, living in or near Rochester, where she died and was buried in the family's "little hillside cemetery near Rochester," though no stone marking her grave had been found.
Her first husband was Joseph Seraphin Tougas dit LaViolette (m. 16 Jan. 1773), by whom she had at least ten children, and her second, Andre Montplaisir (m. 10 April 1795), gave her one daughter, Barbe (b. 1796. m. 1820 Pierre Dubois who d. 1830).
Jeanne Cardinal's marriages are recorded in the parish register of St. Francis Xavier (the Old Cathedral) in Vincennes, Knox County, Indiana.
Also please note that the dates have not been verified. They are reported at FamilySearch (K2ZC-W1F) by different submitter without sources. The birth place is given as Detroit, but my understanding is that Kaskaskia at some time was part of the Diocese of Detroit (needs more research). The death date is the same date as that recorded on the headstone of her daughter-in-law, Eleanor, which is improbable but not impossible.
