CLARK, James McGinnis of San Gabriel. Age 59. Died 9/8/1960 in Rockdale hospital, unexpectedly, a few minutes after reaching the hospital. Services held (Sat.) from the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Chapel, Rockdale. Burial in the Forest Grove Cemetery. Rev. Millard Brown, Minister of the Full Gospel Church officiated assisted by the Rev. Reuel J. Cooper, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Thorndale. Mr. Clark better known as "Mac" to his many friends, was the son of the late Jim and Mattie Worley Clark.

He was BORN in the Salty Community on 10/13/1900. He grew up in the San Gabriel Community and was a carpenter and farmer by vocation. Married Miss Jewel Carver in 1921. He and his wife lived near Thorndale since 1949. He was in Thorndale Thursday afternoon chatting with friends, shortly after he reached home he complained of not feeling well and drove himself to a Rockdale hospital where he died a few minutes after reaching the hospital.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Jewel; 3 sons, J.M. Clark, Jr. of Houston, Howe King Clark and Rufus Lee Clark, both of Rockdale; 2 daughters, Mrs. Edna Timmerman of Rockdale and Mrs. Ethel Smith of LaGrange; brother, Bill Clark, San Gabriel; 2 sisters, Mattie Andrews of Houston, Mrs. Bess Alford of Rockdale and 12 grandchildren.
