Mrs. Steppe was born on June 26, 1932, in Sabetha, Kansas, and had been a St. Joseph resident since 1960.
She was a homemaker and also had worked in the family business, Quality Radiator Service. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Mrs. Steppe was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Minnie (Rochele) Stuke;- three brothers, Walter, Wilbur and Francis Stuke.
She married Andrew Steppe on December 6, 1951, he survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: three sons, Dennis L. Steppe, St. Joseph, Missouri, Dwain C. Steppe, De Soto, Kansas, and Dean A. Steppe, Steamboat Springs Colorado; one brother, Leonard Stuke, Seneca, Kansas; and two grandchildren.
Prayer service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph. Interment: Mount Auburn Cemetery, St. Joseph.
Visitation will be held after 9 a.m. today, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 tonight.
The family has requested memorials to the Bishop LeBlond High School Building Fund.
