Columbus, GA- Mrs. Mildred Moss Daniels, 98, of Columbus passed on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Piedmont Hospital Midtown.

Funeral service for Mrs. Daniels was conducted at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 31, 2018 at First African Baptist Church, Roderick B. Green, pastor officiating. Interment was held at Porterdale Cemetery according to the Charles E. Huff's International Funeral Home, Inc. Viewing held on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Daniels was born on September 6, 1920 to the late Eddie Moss and Mary Fowler Moss in Columbus, GA. She attended elementary school and high school in Columbus. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Albany State College, Albany, GA and her Master's Degree from Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, FL. Mrs. Daniels joined First African Baptist Church at an early age and was a devoted and faithful member until she moved to Moultrie, GA. She married the late Robert (Bob) Thomas Daniels on September 13, 1944 in Columbus, GA.

Mrs. Daniels taught school in Columbus and in 1949 accepted a teaching position in Moultrie, GA where she moved with her husband. She remained with that school system until her retirement in 1980.

Mrs. Daniels was very active in many civic and social activities before leaving Moultrie to return to Columbus, to include: the American Legion Auxillary, Coterriette's Social Club, the Alfresco Social Club of Moultrie, the Women's Federated Club, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Colquitt County Association of Educators, Georgia Association and National Association of Educators. She was a member of the Executive Board of the United Way and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Daniels was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas Daniels, Sr.; two sisters, Iris Moss Tensley and Eddye Moss Blair; two brothers, E. Ceasar Moss and Theo W. Moss; one niece, Iris C. Robinson; one nephew, Theo W. Moss, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories one son, Robert T. Daniels of Ellerslie, GA; three daughters, Patricia D. Lee, Albany, GA, Vivian M. Jackson (Clyde), Memphis, TN and Jacquelyne D. Sears (Bertram), Atlanta, GA; one sister, Thelma M. Robinson (Edward), Columbus, GA; one sister-in-law, Frances Moss, Sumter, SC, one brother-in-law, Edward F. Robinson, Columbus, GA; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, three nieces, three nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
