Margaret Ellen (Harris) Autrey, 84 of McAlester, Oklahoma, went to see Jesus on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at PAM Specialty Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The family will greet friends and visitors on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester, Oklahoma.
Margaret was born on September 4, 1936 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Benjamin and Minnie (Pusley) Harris. She graduated from McAlester High School. Margaret married Billy Ray Autrey on June 15, 1953 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma.
Margaret enjoyed traveling with the Choctaw Nation Senior Citizen Group, playing chair volleyball, watching Thunder basketball, putting together puzzles and sewing. If you knew her personally her famous quote was "It's me! I'm just checking in."
Margaret is survived by a daughter, Annette of Alderson, Oklahoma; grand-daughter, Jamie Bolding and husband Brandon of McAlester, Oklahoma; grandson, Kameron Collins of McAlester, Oklahoma; great grand-daughter Madison Clifton of McAlester, Oklahoma; sister, Helen Crafts of McAlester, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law, Ann Autrey of Durant, Oklahoma and Tommie Harris of Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Minnie Harris; husband Billy Ray Autrey; son, Robert Autrey; brothers Kenneth Harris and Earl Harris; brothers-in-law, Doyle Crafts and Frank Autrey.
