Mrs. Essie R. Harlan of 820 E. Republic, Peoria, passed away in the Methodist Hospital Tuesday. Mrs. Harlan was born March 21, 1875, in Dunlap, the daughter of Nathaniel and Sarah Cramer Richmond and married Ernest Harlan January 1, 1901, in Dunlap.
Mrs. Harlan had lived all her life in Dunlap except the past ten years when she made her home with her daughter, Luella Harlan, in Peoria.
She is survived by two sons, Theodore of Dunlap and Willard of Sheffield, a daughter, Miss Luella Harlan of Peoria, two grandchildren, three sisters, all of Dunlap, Mrs. Alice Campbell, Mrs. Myrtle Cornish and Miss Cora Richmond, and two brothers, Elmer and Roy Richmond of Dunlap. Her husband and one sister preceded her in death.
She was a member of Prospect Presbyterian Church in Dunlap and was a member of the first high school graduating class in Dunlap in 1895.
He body will lie in state in Dunlap Prospect Presbyterian Church Tuesday when funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Paul Jassimides. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery.
