EAST PEORIA - Hanford "Ray" Alldredge, age 80, of East Peoria, formerly of Peoria, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at 3 a.m. at Riverview ManorCare in East Peoria.

Born Feb. 11, 1926, in Moline to Raymond I. and Mabel A. Pearce [Pierce] Alldredge. He married Donna M. Strosnider Oct. 10, 1958, in Peoria. She passed away April 12, 1994, in East Peoria.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters.

He is survived by two stepsons, James D. (Kathy) Cullen of rural Canton and Jerry T. (Marsha) Cullen of East Peoria; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sylvia Kearns of Peoria.

Ray was a firefighter in Peoria for 29 years, holding various positions. He retired as an inspector in 1976.

He was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Retired Peoria Firefighters Local 50 and the Illinois Association of Retired Firefighters and a former member of the Peoria AMVETS Post 64.

Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in East Peoria, where he was a member. Rev. Kurt Mews will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Burial will be in Mount Hawley Cemetery in Peoria with military honors accorded by the Tazewell Military Rites Team and the Navy.
