David Blunt, 82, of Farmington, passed away January 20, 2021, with his loving wife of 60 years, by his side. He was born February 27, 1938, in Desloge, to the late William Howard and Barbara J. (Haney) Blunt.

David was a lifelong member of the Desloge Baptist Church, serving as a teacher and deacon. He loved visiting people and sharing his faith. David graduated with a teacher's degree from SEMO and taught 4 decades in the North County School District. There he touched the hearts of many young people all around the District. David guided several young men, leading by example, while coaching many levels of Baseball.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Lizzie Shrum and Margie Cook; and one brother, Amos Blunt.

David married the love of his life in 1961, Mary Beth (Stanfield) Blunt of Farmington. He was a devoted father to his two sons, who were his whole world, Brian Blunt and wife Michelle, Brad Blunt and wife Gina; grandchildren, Matt Blunt, Aaron, Andrew and Ashlee Blunt; and four great-grandchildren. David also leaves behind his siblings, Patsy (Jim) Clark, Joe (Marilyn) Blunt, and Harold (Billy) Blunt; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church in Desloge, Saturday, March 20, 2021, at 1:00 PM until the celebration of life at 3:00 PM. Pastor Bradford Laubinger will be officiating. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church in Desloge.

Arrangements were under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
