Lamberton, Agnes (Baier)
Irondequoit: After a sudden illness, on Monday, July 14, 2008, at the age of 94. Predeceased by her husband, Donald; daughter, Patricia Trippi; brothers, Albert, Adelbert and Rudy Baier; son-in-law Bert Purwin. Mrs Lamberton is survived by her children, Diane Purwin and Donald (Barbara) Lamberton; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Curt) Drury; many nieces and nephews and longtime family friends who remember her especially for her cooking and baking skills.
After attending St. Joseph's Commercial School in Rochester, Agnes worked in the bookkeeping department of Sibley, Lindsey and Curr, Co., and later at Kodak's Hawkeye division. As a founding family of St. Margaret Mary parish in Irondequoit, she and her husband helped build the church and school. She volunteered in the Alter Society, as well as various other church and school events and actively supported her children's High School activities. She loved to travel, taking many memorable family vacations, and loved parties of every kind. She and her husband entertained frequently and Agnes brought a ready smile and something delicious to eat to every event. But most of all, Agnes loved her family.
Agnes' family would like to thank the personnel of Penfield Place and the Hospice Unit at Highland Hospital for her recent care, but especially Judy Curtin, Bette Lawrenz, Sr. Rita Tutzke, S.S. and Joan Benati for their loving attention.
Her family will receive friends Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends are invited to attend her funeral mass Thursday, 10 AM at St. Margeret Mary Church. Interment, Irondequoit Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Agnes' name to VNS Hospice and Palliative Care, 2180 Empire Blvd., Webster, NY 14580, or Shepherd Home, 1959 Five Mile Line Rd., Penfield, NY 14526, or Sisters Care.
