Steven Paul Prout was born on June 2, 1970, the youngest of 10 children to the late Lola Patricia Gilbert and Clyde Prout Sr.
Steve was born and raised in Placer County and loved being with and caring for his family. Steven passed away in his home on January 15, 2021.
Steve was a licensed cosmetologist, and attended schools in Placer County. Steven was a founding member, and longest running founding council member, of The Colfax Todds Valley Consolidated Tribe of The Colfax Rancheria, serving as both Treasurer and Vice-Chairman.
Steven is preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as sisters Elizabeth D. Gour, Clara A. Moman, & Laura J. Armbruster, and brothers Clyde Prout Jr., Richard A. Prout, & Timothy G. Prout Sr.
He is survived by his nephew; sisters and brother. He is also survived by his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and those who loved him.
He will be laid to rest at the Colfax Indian Cemetery.
