Funeral service for Charlie William Garrett were conducted at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, July 21, from the Nations Poplar Creek Church with the Rev. E.P. Burke of Winona assisted by Rev. Paul Brown of Kilmichael officiating.

Interment was in Nations Poplar Creek Cemetery under the directions of the Oliver Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Waymon Ware, Luther Ware, Denton Garrett, Doyle Garrett, William Garrett, Henry Clay Miles, Felix Crowder and Gene Kimberly.

Mr. Garrett had been in ill health for eight years. He died at his residence near Kilmichael on July 20th.

He was born in Montgomery County, July 16, 1881. His wife, Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Miles Garrett, died in 1950.

His survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Anzie Burns, Greenville, Mrs. Lamar Cowder, Kilmichael, Mrs. Herman Tabb, Ridgeland; five sons, Elmer Garrett, Grants, N.M, Millard Garrett and Henry Ford Garrett, Greenville, Marion Garrett, Gallup, N.M., Calvin Garrett, Kilmichael; one sister, Mrs. C. W. Chesteen, Magee; two brothers, Frank Garrett and J.J. Garrett, Kilmichael; 30 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces & nephews.
