LDS records show that William was married (c.late-1880s) to a Colorado-born divorcee, Mary Jane Cain FORD, who had borne two children by her first husband and would bear William another five. William was listed as living in Pixley, Tulare County in his father’s 1901 will, and was still living in Tulare County at time of the 1910 federal census; he was later registered (with his wife) as a Republican in the Pine Ridge precinct of Tulare County in 1918. At the time of the Jan. 1920 federal census, he was living at 1057 “I” Street in Fresno, Fresno County, CA. (50 miles north of Tulare/Visalia); while listed as “married”, he was a roomer in a boarding house, with no wife listed with him (separated?).
