Johnnie was born on December 24, 1934 and passed away on Friday, August 8, 2008. Johnnie was last known to be living in Marquez, Texas. Johnnie Ketchey was born and raised in the Concord Community. He worked as a trim carpenter and lived most of his life in Houston and several years in Dallas before moving back to Leon County in 2000. Johnnie loved fishing and hunting and was always "country" at heart. He was preceded in death by his parents George W. and Lillie N. (Haney) Ketchey; sister, Alice Mitchell; brothers, George Ketchey, Mack Leon Ketchey and Al Ketchey and half brothers, Elmer "Doc" Harrell and Russell Ketchey. He died early Friday morning at his home.

Surviving family includes his wife, Reba Ketchey of Concord; daughters, Annita Apker and husband, Tracy, of Brookshire, Texas and Star Blalock of Houston; step-children, Brenda Bass and husband, Charles, of Anchorage, Alaska, Glen A. Meek of Concord and Dennis P. Meek and wife, Jennifer, of Roger, Arkansas; brothers, Curtis Ray Ketchey and wife, Kathleen Mary, of Houston and Jim Ketchey and wife, Lois, of Alberta, Canada and grandchildren, Wendi, Megan, Michael, Beverly, Christopher, Brittany, Grayson, Tracy, Patrick and Kristy.
