Adolfo Tarango
APRIL 16, 1929 – DECEMBER 18, 2020

Adolfo Tarango Jr. (Rudy) was born in Valentine, Texas on April 16, 1929 to Adolfo and Belen (Mendoza) Tarango. The family moved to Visalia in 1944.

Adolfo spent two years in the U.S. Army's 552nd Artillery Unit stationed in Karlsruhe, Germany. After his Army days, he returned to Visalia. Adolfo enjoyed the outdoors and agricultural work. He became a foreman for Michael Toomey, a local rancher and worked for Mr. Toomey for over 20 years before his retirement.

Listening to big band orchestras and country and western music were his lifelong pastimes. He also learned to play the steel guitar, and was surprisingly good at it.

Later in life, he enjoyed taking daily walks, eating out and watching movies. Two of his favorite movies were "Guns of Navarone" and "Dirty Dozen".

Adolfo will be missed. He is survived by his sister Mary Rico of Visalia and brother Ernest Tarango of San Pedro CA and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
