Middle name: Shubael? Likely son of Jesse Pierce and grandson of Shubael and Abigail (Mason) Pierce/Pearce of Hampton, NY.

Married Caroline L. Potter around 1847. Moved from Hampton, Washington County, NY to Geneva, WI in 1851. During the Civil War was a wagoner with Company C, 22nd Infantry Regiment Wisconsin. Received $35 bounty for enlisting August 11, 1862. Following first Battle of Spring Hill, TN, spent four months, March through June 1863, in Hospital No. 18, Nashville, TN. Later participated in Sherman's Atlanta Campaign and March to the Sea. Mustered out at Washington, DC, June 12, 1865 (Distinguished Service). Arrived at Jefferson County, NE in July 1869 by ox team to take up a homestead. Children were: Jesse J., Annes Augusta (Hill) (Prentice), George Henry, Theodore Seymore, David Abijah, Emma E. (Prentice), Frederick Elinas, Caroline A., Lulu N., and Elwin A. Theodore likely died in 1893. There is a receipt dated July 1893 for his Civil War veteran's gravestone.
