Orene Currey, 90, passed away on August 16, 2006 in the Willie L Nursing Home in Cameron. Rev. Glynn Cummings of Grace Church in Cameron conducted graveside services at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale on August 20, 2006.
Orene was born on June 21, 1916 in Lexington to Otto and Ruby Mae (Vinton) Meyer. She married Howard Currey on December 1, 1946 at the First Christian Church Parsonage in Rockdale. She was a homemaker. Her husband preceded her in death in 2001.
She is survived by her son, William H. Currey of South Carolina; grandsons, Eric H. Currey also of South Carolina and Justin D. Currey of Arlington; great granddaughter, Kayla Currey of Keene; brother, Cecil "Pete" Meyer and wife Maxine of Cameron and sister, Amelia Alma Burgeson and husband Harold of Lago Vista.
