Obituary for Wayne Berndt
Wayne Berndt, 80, of Ramey, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Penn Highlands Dubois Hospital.
Born December 26, 1940 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Harry and Ella May (Davis) Berndt.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, and was a member of the American Legion. He worked at Johnson & Johnson for many years. Wayne served as the Mayor of Ramey Borough.
He is survived by a brother, Harry (Donna) Berndt; a sister, Vivian Hudak; step-daughter, Jodie Little; step-granddaughter, Brandy; his companion, Sylvia Susko; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 5-7 PM Sunday and 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM Monday at Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Ramey. Pastor Christine Roe will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Beulah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ramey Fire Company, P.O. Box 51, Ramey, PA 16671, or to a charity of one’s choice.
