James Arthur “Art” Moore Sr. 72, of Bloomington passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born, July 20, 1947 in Brown County, he was the son of the late Frank Moore and Minnie (Bradley) Elkins.

Art was a Mason for the Halls of Residence at Indiana University for 42 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing and farming.

Survivors include his children, James A. Moore Jr. (Gail) of Bedford, Brian Stroud (Tonya) of Bloomfield, and Teresa Mathis (Tod) of Bloomington, siblings, George Moore, and Joyce McIntire (Jim), 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Art was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Nancy L. Moore (February, 2020), daughter, Melissa Hacker, and sister, Rose Dragoo.

Visitation will be 11am-1pm Saturday, May 30, 2020 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday at The Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Duncan Cemetery in Brown County.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
