FRANCIS M. BEALL IS SUMMONED BY DEATH
After several weeks of sickness due to failing health and old age, Francis M. Beall passed away peacefully last Saturday at 12:30 o'clock.
Through the span of his 84 years he has been a resident of this county, and since 1890 a resident of Princeville. He always took an active part in public affairs and was a highly respected citizen.
Francis M. Beall, the son of a veteran of the War of 1812, Asa Beall and wife Mary Beall, was born on Jubilee township, Peoria county, on February 18, 1840. He died at his home in Princeville on February 2, 1924 lacking but sixteen days in completing 84 years.
According to the sketch of his life contained in the book, "Biographical Sketches" he began to work when quite young on the farm with his father. He attended school for two terms at Wyoming. At 21 years of age he took charge of the farm and in 1868 when 28 years of age he bought the 160 acres of land, which comprised the farm home, and where he lived until the year 1890 when he removed to Princeville.
On the 15th day of March 1865, Mr. Beall was united in marriage with Mary Curl whose parental home was Carmichels, Green county, Pennsylvania. To this union seven children were born, four girls—Josephine, Emma, Hattie and Olive, and three boys—Charles, Thomas and Francis Jr. Three daughters preceded the father in death: Emma on the 16th of March 1887; Olive on the 8th of December, 1897; and Josephine on the 1st of April, 1905.
