She was born April 20, 1907 in Long Island, NY to Spencer Johnstone, a Navy captain and Madge Pabst of the Pabst Brewing Company empire. She married Ervin John "Ed" Yoho in 1931 in California. She later married Arthur Hartmann in 1938. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Lloyd (and Joanne) Yoho of Abingdon; two grandsons, Mitch Yoho and Matt Yoho, both of Abingdon; four great grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan, Rylie and Ryder; and one great-great grandson, Tyrail.
She moved to California at the age of four, where she would spend the next 90 years. She moved back to Abingdon five years ago and made her home with her son and daughter-in-law.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Abingdon.
During her lifetime, she had the good fortune of being friends with such people as John Wayne, James Arness and Zane Gray as well as many producers and directors. In her younger years she was a bookkeeper for Ralph's Grocers in California.
Graveside service will be at the Abingdon Cemetery.
