Karen M. Applebee, 60, Deer River, died Thursday, June 3, 1999, in Deer River.
She was born April 30, 1939, at Cass Lake, the daughter of Ambrose and Susan Schaaf. She lived in Ball Club her entire life. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Deer River. She worked in the woods and at a variety of jobs, including cabin cleaning and being a home health aide.
She is survived by daughter Marilyn Miller, Ball Club; sons, Patrick Losh, Minneapolis, William Losh, Ball Club, and Thomas Applebee, Ball Club; sisters, Evelyn Granger, Marilyn Whitney, Clara Kruse, Nancy Arnoux, Susanna Schaaf, and Mary Ann Shedd; brothers, Alexander Schaaf, Ronald Schaaf, William Schaaf, and Frank Schaaf; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Applebee; and sons, Stephen and Michael Losh.
Funeral: Saturday, June 5 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Ball Club, with the Rev. Athanase Fuchs officiating.
Burial: St. Joseph's Cemetery, Ball Club.
Arrangements are by Carroll Funeral Home, Deer River.
