"Mrs. Rachel M. Atkisson, after a protracted sickness of about eight weeks with typhoid fever, died at her home last Friday, October 28. The funeral services were conducted at the Christian church at 10 o'clock Saturday morning (Oct. 29) by elder W.B. Cochran, and the remains were laid to rest in Clay Hill cemetery.
She was in her 57th year and left four sons and three daughters to mourn the loss of a mother. Her husband died about three years ago."
