Regina F. "Jean" Smith, 87, of 8th Avenue, Parkersburg passed away Aug. 4, 2004, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 12, 1916, at Belleville, a daughter of the late Reuben L. and Nellie Whipkey Piggott.
She worked at the Borg-Warner Cafeteria for many years and had been an employee of American Viscose.
Regina was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church and a former member of Ford Chapel United Methodist Church at Belleville.
She was a member of the Helping Hands Quilt Club of Belleville and the Evangelical Methodist Woman's Group. She was an avid quilter and a very dedicated and faithful Christian.
Surviving are her loving husband of 65 years, Lawrence E. Smith; two sisters, Ferne Anderson and Laverne Steele, both of Parkersburg; four nieces, Sharon Boone, Sandra Flinn, Connie Radcliff and Patti Carnes; and three nephews, David Steele, Michael Steele and Mark Steele. Also surviving are several great and great-great-nieces and nephews; and her pet dog, "Rocky."
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Evangelical Methodist Church, 1906 Gihon Road, the Rev. Larry Piatt will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg and one hour prior to service Saturday at the church.
