Marcella Chrisfield, 91, Duluth, MN resident, died Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born on March 25, 1929 in Casey County, Kentucky to Ruba and Bertha (Carmicle) Mathews.

She graduated from Hamilton High School in Ohio in 1953 and she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1956 from Eastern Kentucky State College. Marcella was a school teacher for over thirty years for Owatonna, MN Public School District, retiring in 1992. Marcella enjoyed teaching and art work. Her family will miss her good cooking, especially her famous apple pies.

Marcella is survived by her son, Thomas (Nancy) Chrisfield; daughter, Jill (Brad) Edstrom; grandsons: Brent Edstrom, Scott Chrisfield, Christopher Edstrom and John Chrisfield; six great-grandchildren; sisters: Irene Gosser, Jewell Delrue, Mary (Bob) Cramer, and Brenda (Mickey) Roy; brother, Johnnie (Gail) Mathews; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Redd Russell, second husband, Norman Chrisfield, two infant children and son, Kenneth Chrisfield.

A private family graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna, MN will take place at a later date.
