Earlene (O’Dell) Beabout, 90, of Olney, died on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Indiana University Health West Hospital in Avon, Indiana.
Earlene was born on January 21, 1930 in Oblong, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Velma Rhodes O'Dell. She married Larry Beabout on June 27, 1954 in Oblong, and he preceded her in death on December 18, 2008.
She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a BS in education. Earlene taught over 30 years and finished her career teaching first grade at Cherry Street School until retirement in 1994.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Olney. Her hobbies included music, singing, traveling, and sports. Earlene was an avid Cubs Fan and loved all Illinois sports.
Earlene was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her family, and she will be missed by all who ever came in contact with her. She lived life to the fullest, and always had a positive approach to life.
Earlene is survived by her sons, Brad (Kathy) Beabout of Powell, OH and Ken (Valerie) Beabout of, Speedway IN; Grandsons, Britt (Nicole) and Blake (Brit); Granddaughters, Bree (Quin) and Carly (Jordan); Eight great grandchildren, Ashton, Diem, Oliver, Sutton, Priscilla, Ramona, Logan, and Riley; She is also survived by her brother, Jack and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, her parents, and her brother, Bob.
A private Graveside Service will be held for Earlene at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Oblong Cemetery.
