Alexander Koscielski, son of Joseph and Victoria Koscielski was born February 18, 1928, near San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from high school in Lovena, Texas. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and earned his honorable discharge in 1949. In 1951 he graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Business Degree, and continued his education with a second degree in Meteorology. Alexander then moved to Oregon where his work included weather modification and cloud seeding technologies. He was united in marriage to Janice Christiansen and they moved to Rapid City, South Dakota where he took a job with the School of Mines and Technology. They were blessed with six children. He later joined the National Weather Service in 1976 in Nebraska, later moving to Sioux Falls. He was united in marriage to Myrna Callies on August 10, 1979. Alex retired from the NWS in 1997. In his spare time, he had a great love of gardening, fishing, and hunting. His love for his work and great interest in watching storms carried over into retirement.
Grateful for having shared his life are his 4 children,5 step children and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Janice and Myrna; daughter, Kelly Koscielski; son, Peter Koscielski; and his siblings.
