Adele (Cewe) Longfield - Died Monday, March 31, 2014, in her 92nd year with family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Donald C. Longfield (2002). Dear mother of Lilli Van Laningham and her friend Stanley Silver; Larry Longfield and his wife Shelley; Debbie OpdenKelder and her husband Rudy. Cherished grandmother of Shawn OpdenKelder (Bekki), Nathan OpdenKelder (Courtney), Brett Longfield and Trent Longfield. Adele was known to her family and friends as a devoted mother who doted on her children and grandchildren. She provided a good example of Christian living and prayed daily for the health and safe guidance of family and friends. One of ten children, Adele was predeceased by sisters, Eva, Maria, Karolyn and Katherine; and brothers, Peter, John, Jakob, Joseph and Anton. Survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends throughout Canada, Europe and the U.S.A. Visitation will be at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, on Thursday, April 3, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014, at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 1420 Devonshire Avenue, Woodstock, followed by burial at the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations can be arranged through the funeral home and may be made to the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish Building Fund. Special thanks to great-niece, Christine Nechelput; Dr. Kocsis and staff, and all personnel of CCAC and the Red Cross for all the help provided throughout Adele’s end of life care. Your kind words and dedicated care will always be remembered.
