April 9, 1929 – December 10, 2006

Richard E. Allen, 77, of Rockdale, died on December 10, 2006 in the Georgetown Hospital. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale with the Rockdale Masonic Lodge #414 conducting the service.

Richard was born in Rockdale on April 9, 1929 to Albert Sidney and Myrtle Ray (Wells) Allen. He worked for the Texas Highway Department as a Procurement Director for 35 years, retiring in 1988. He and Jacquelyn Abbott were married in Hearne on October 27, 1952. His wife, Jackie, parents and 12 brothers and sisters precede him in death.

He is survived by his son, Sid Allen and wife Beth of Georgetown, daughter, Tammy Schulz and husband Jeff of Brenham and 7 grandchildren.

He was a member of Rockdale Masonic Lodge #414 AF & AM. Memorials may be made to St. Johns United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 168, Rockdale, Texas 76567
