Esther Wharton, eldest daughter of William Wharton, solicitor's clerk, Barnard Castle, and his wife Ann [née Loadman], baptized 28 February 1836 in Barnard Castle, County Durham, England. Schoolteacher. Lived in Durham City, County Durham, England, on the North Road, and later at 60, Gilesgate, Durham City. Notice in the Teesdale Mercury of 23 November 1910 p5: Deaths. WHARTON.--At 60, Gilesgate, Durham, on the 17th November inst., Esther Wharton, the last surviving daughter of the late Mr Wm. Wharton, of Barnard Castle, aged 75 years. Interred at Gilesgate Churchyard, Durham on Monday last.
