The death of John Prior, aged ninety four years, one of the oldest residents of the East side, came early this morning following a short illness at the home of his son, Clarence Prior, 274 East Tenth street.
Mr. Prior lived in Oswego practically all his life.
For over sixty years he was a resident of the Eighth ward and was held in high regard by his neighbors and friends.
Mr. Prior was married twice, his first wife being Miss Mary Pelow.
He was a member of St. Louis church and of the Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Jennie Champion Prior, this city, George Prior, Boston, and four daughters, Mrs. Henry Shaw, Liverpool, New York, Mrs. Mildred Hall, Marshaltown, Ohio, Mrs. Hugh Gillen, Oswego, and Mrs. J. Kingsbury, Lansing, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
