Floyd Donald Boone was called home to be with our Lord and Savior December 14, 2020. He was born April 21, 1930 in St. Charles, MO. to Harvey and Hazel Boone.
He volunteered with the United States Air Force in 1951. While stationed in Denver, CO., he met the love of his life Harriet Weiss. They were married June 15, 1952 in Denver, CO. While serving in the Air Force he was awarded Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Medal. He was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant November 24, 1958. After his service he was an agricultural salesman.

Floyd was an active member of Christ the King Cathedral parish. He was a member of the Secular order of Franciscans. He served on the board of Catholic Charities, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and was a mentor for Catholic Marriage Encounter and was a member of Serra International. He and Harriet also welcomed students from the International Student Association at Texas Tech University into their home.

What made him proudest was his family. He welcomed the in-laws with open arms and love. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Harriet Weiss Boone; children: Greg and Faberen Boone, Audrey and Gerald Breeding, Larry and Mary Boone, Mark and Jeanne Ashley all of Lubbock, Tom and Nadja Lauder-Boone of Lakewood, CO, Danny and Melissa Pool of Justiceburg, TX; He was "Grandpa" to 35 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his children, David Allen Boone and Mary Katherine Rider.

A Rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Livestream will be available on Resthaven's Facebook.
