Nancy B. Bennett JohnstownNancy B. Bennett, 83, of Persse Avenue, Johnstown, died peacefully Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at home, in the presence of her loving family. She was born September 9, 1928, the daughter of Harold and Helen Browne Busch. She was raised in Caroga Lake and attended the Wheelerville school. After studying travel and tourism at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, she married Willard H. Bennett. Together, in the late 1950s and early 1960s, they owned and operated several area restaurants, including the Outlet and Maple Tree Knoll in Caroga Lake. They divorced in the mid 1960s. She worked for many years at the Northward Inn, with both Vi and Jimmy Remington and current owners, Dick and Peg Johnston. Nancy was passionate and knowledgeable about antiques and was widely respected in the region as an appraiser and a coordinator of estate sales. She specialized in glass, china and collectibles. An eager and worldly traveler, she toured many parts of the United States and foreign destinations including England, France, Spain and Italy. She was an avid reader with a sweet tooth, regularly indulging her appetites for fiction and fine chocolate. Nancy is survived by three children. Other survivors include grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Nancy was predeceased by her longtime companion, Howard Fear of Gloversville. Friends and family may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, at the Ehle Funeral Home, 15 N. William St., Johnstown. A service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation was conducted at Leatherstocking Crematory in Cherry Valley, NY. Interment will be in the spring at St. Patrick's Cemetery,
