He was born in 1930 to the late Harold Busch and Helen Browne Busch. Bruce was married to his loving wife, Mildred “Millie” Busch in 1951. Bruce graduated from Johnstown High School in 1948. He was a proud American and patriot who served our country in the U.S. Army from 1951-53, serving in the Infantry. Bruce was acting postmaster in Caroga Lake from 1958-61. He also served as a chartered member of the Caroga Lake Vol. Fire Dept. and went on to become fire chief for 17 years. Bruce owned and operated Busch’s Coffee Shop, better known as the “Caroga Coffee Shop” from 1958-72. He was a proud member of the NRA, Beer, Buck and Beagle Hunting Club and the North Bush VFW. Bruce was town of Caroga Supervisor for 10 years, back in the 1980s and was employed with New York State DEC, Northville.
Bruce leaves behind not only his loving wife, Mildred Hlozansky Busch but also his son, Harold Busch (Donna); his daughter, Joan Yuenger (Dan); his beloved grandchildren, Bruce Busch (Pam) and Barbara Busch; and his great-grandchildren, Kolbee and Andi Busch. He was predeceased by not only his parents but also his beloved sister, Nancy Bennett.
It was Bruce’s wish to have no formal public services. A private interment will take place at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville, N.Y.
