Ernest L. Verrette

Ernest L. Verrette, 70, of 323 Ridgewood Drive died yesterday in Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was a retired silversmith. Mr. Verrette was a partner in the Salina Plating Co. in North Syracuse from 1944 to 1970. He was a silversmith for National Plating Co. in Mattydale from 1970 until his retirement in 1972. Mr. Verrette was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, a member of its Holy Name Society and was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 191. He was a member of the Pastime Athletic Club. Mr. Verrette is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Lawley Verrette; a son, John M. of Liverpool; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur McKenney of Mattydale; 17 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Services will be tomorrow at 8:15 a.m. at Whelan Bros. Funeral Home, and at 9 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today.
