Rayburn Erwin Davis, 63, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 in San Angelo, Texas.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in the Cedar Hill Section of the Abilene Municipal Cemetery with Danny Minton, officiating.

Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.

Rayburn was born on June 24, 1957 to the late William John and Maetta (Williams) Davis.

He was raised on the family farm in southern Taylor County.

He attended school with the Jim Ned Indians.

In 1967 they moved to Abilene and he attended special education classes.

After he finished school he resided in Brownwood, Stamford, Sweetwater and San Angelo.

He was a member of the Highland Church of Christ. His favorite Bible verse was Psalm 18:24, “This is the day the Lord has made: …rejoice and be glad in it”.

He lived and did his work well.

Rayburn was a special blessing and made a difference for good in the lives of family members and others.

Rayburn was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Janet Ruth McLennan, maternal grandparents, Cecil and Gertrude Williams, paternal grandparents, R.E. and Stella Davis, aunt and uncles, Fay and Bob Reynolds, Marvin Reed and Billy Williams, and cousins, Robert Clark Reynolds, Angeline Reed, and Dell Davis.

Survivors include his nephews, Mark McLennan and John McLennan and his fiancé, Calli Gutknecht; great niece, Tallyn; aunts and uncles, Roy and Annette Williams, Janell Atchley, and Ruth Reed; cousins, Joan Reynolds, Rod Williams, Ellen Williams, Charles Atchley, Mike Atchley, Karen Sanchez, Cynthia Matlock, Jennifer Marbach, and Rod Davis.
