Abilene Reporter News:
Woman dies in head-on crash
November 20, 2005

An Abilene woman died Saturday afternoon when her car hit a motor home head-on on Interstate 20, said Department of Public Safety State Trooper Joel Timms.

Janet McLennan, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened around 1 p.m., just west of Putnam, between Baird and Cisco.

Timms said McLennan was driving east on I-20 and went through the center median and hit the motor home in the westbound lane of traffic.

''We don't have any idea at this time why she went through the median and into the westbound lane,'' Timms said.

The driver and the passenger in the motor home suffered minor injuries, he said.

They were treated at the scene.

Westbound traffic was reduced to one lane for an hour and a half, Timms said.

The accident remained under investigation Saturday.
