Janet Elaine Maas-Catt, 93, of Indianapolis, peacefully passed away on December 4, 2020. She was born on January 23, 1927 to Samuel E. and Evelyn (Harrison) Dragoo.

She was a graduate of IPS School #20 and Arsenal Technical High School. Following high school she attended Indiana State Teachers College.

Janet married Charles F. Maas on June 3, 1948. They had two children Barbara and Robert. She taught at Indianapolis Public School #54 for several years. In 1958 when Trinity Lutheran School relocated to the east side, Janet became the first kindergarten teacher at Trinity. Following that she served for several years as an office administrator for Dr. Richard Worley. She was blessed to enjoy many years as a homemaker, wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She especially relished doting on her grandchildren and was absolutely the best friend any dog (hers or anyone else’s) could ask for.

Janet married Howard Catt in 1994, and he survives. Also surviving are daughter, Barbara (Joseph,deceased) Smith, son, Robert (Barbie) Maas and Nancy (Rick) Wright, Brenda (Ralph) Reiff, Debbie (Jay) Danner, Brian (Donna) Catt. She is also survived by many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Janet was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles, a sister (Barbara Dragoo) and a brother (Samuel H. Dragoo)
